Jump Learns to Fish
"Sometimes you catch a fish. And sometimes you make a memory."
Jump the grasshopper has never fished a day in his life. But when the idea strikes him one sunny morning, he puffs out his little chest and declares to his best friend Luna the ladybug: he wants to try. Right now.
Armed with a twig for a pole and a leaf for bait, Jump settles at the water's edge with all the confidence in the world — and not quite as much patience.
Then, out of the stillness, an old turtle with a mossy shell lumbers over and sits beside him. Without any fuss, the turtle begins to tell stories — slow, warm, wonderful stories about patience, about waiting, and about all the good things that come to those who are still long enough to notice them.
A zippy dragonfly swoops by, trying to lure Jump away. "Fishing is boring!" he declares. But Jump holds his line steady and shakes his head. This doesn't feel boring at all.
And then — a tug! Jump reels in his line with all his might... and pulls up not a fish, but a smooth, shiny, perfectly beautiful rock. Without a second thought, he holds it out to Luna. A gift. A treasure. A memory.
The old turtle smiles. "Sometimes you catch a fish," he says softly. "And sometimes you make a memory."
Jump Learns to Fish is a tender, timeless story about patience, friendship, the courage to try new things, and the quiet magic of moments that stay with you forever. 🪨✨
